Wordless Wednesday: Glorious Rain Brings Green

Rain works wonders for soybeans!

Wheat harvest has begun in Kansas and it's only a matter of time before a combine rolls across this lovely golden field!

Wordless Wednesday: Rest in Peace, Winnies

The Winnies at their prime - before Rooster and other varmints got them.
So apparently I am able-bodied enough to care for three horses, two dogs and a large human child but I'm unable to care for and protect five birds. Rest in peace, Winnies. You are the last bunch of chickens I will attempt to raise at the Frobuzz ranchero. Hopefully, at our next abode, I can build you a proper coop to keep varmints out and your innards in.

Until next time,

South of Alaska

How is it Friday already? Seems like I was leaving for vacation just yesterday but time flies when you're having the time of your life! I'll have a full recap of Alaska later but until then here are some photos of the gorgeous last frontier.

This was taken at Polychrome Pass in Denali National Park. I'm still learning how to make panorama shots look good using an iPhone!

The Northwestern glacier in the Northwestern fjord in southern Alaska, near Seward

Wildlife, glaciers and more to come soon. Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Semi-Wordless Wednesday: Waving [Green] Wheat

The wheat is still green here in Kansas but we've had some good showers over the past week and with a bit of sunshine, it will should be golden by the time I return from vacation!

green wheat in Kansas will be turning golden in a few weeks
Wheat - one of many, many reasons I love my home state of Kansas.
It's gorgeous out here on the plains!
